Anna Vissi in the 1982 Eurovision song contest representing her native country Cyprus with the song "Mono i agapi" (Only Love).

The song "Mono i Agapi", which ended 5th with 85 points was written by Anna Vissi herself, but many people believe that it was Nikos Karvelas who wrote it.

The song "Mono i Agapi" became soon very popular and Anna Vissi wrote an English version of it " Love Is Lonely Weekend".

Vissi was born in 1957, in the village of Pyla, in Larnaca, Cyprus. She has been singing from a very early age, beginning formal musical studies at the age of six at a local conservatory.

During this time she also studied law at the University of Athens.
