Theofanis Gekas – Greek Football Player

Theofanis Gekas was born in May 23, 1980, in Larissa, Greece.

Theofanis Gekas has been very successful in the last few years, being top goalscorer of the Greek Football League (17 goals) in 2005 and runner-up in 2006 (15 goals) vand he has also won 14 caps of the Greek National Football Team.

Theofanis Gekas started his professional career at his local club AEL – Larissa 1964 (Greek Second Division). After three years there, he moved to Kallithea football club in the summer of 2001. After scoring 32 goals in 73 matches Gekas moved to Panathinaikos football team during the 2005 winter break.

Greek striker Theofanis Gekas has taken German football by storm in his first season in the Bundesliga. He is joint top scorer in the league and his 13 goals have been crucial in VfL Bochum 1848’s battle to avoid relegation.
