Thalassa Ecotours in Greece has been offering sailing holidays combined with the observation and study of dolphins and whales since 2001. The designer and coordinator of these ecotours is Vassilis Podiadis, marine biologist, oceanographer and a sailing fanatic with over 40,000 miles of experience as a skipper of sailing boats. You can hire one of our boats with or without a skipper or rent a cabin and join other like-minded participants. There are plenty of possibilities to enjoy underwater photography and snorkelling. For summer 2007 our ecotours take place in the Ionian Sea, Western Greece. A fair-winds sea area full of beautiful islands like Corfu, Paxoi, Lefkas, Kefalonia, Ithaka, Zakynthos and several other smaller ones. Previous ecotours have shown that marine life is abundant in these waters: dolphins, sperm whales, fin whales, sea turtles and even monk seals are often encountered during the cruises.
