Folk Museum of Milos

The Folk Museum of Milos is located near the Archeological Museum, at the edge of the courtyard of Korfiatissa church in the town of Plaka, the capital of Milos. The museum opened for the public in 1967. The building that houses the museum is over 200 years old.

In the Milos Folk museum you can get an idea about the life of the people of Milos starting from the 17th century. Life-size figures dressed in local costumes illustrate the social life of the islanders. You can also admire tools used for weaving.

As the Milos folk museum is housed in a two-storey house you can admire the bedroom, the workroom, the kitchen, the cellar and the attic. Along with all those, also there are on display house utensils, embroidery, hand woven textiles and old photographs.
