Medicins Sans Frontieres in Greece

Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organization that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 80 countries.
In countries where health structures are insufficient or even non-existent, Medicins Sans Frontieres collaborates with authorities such as the Ministry of Health to provide assistance.
Medicins Sans Frontieres works in rehabilitation of hospitals and dispensaries, vaccination programmers and water and sanitation projects.

Medicins Sans Frontieres also works in remote health care centers, slum areas and provides training of local personnel. All this is done with the objective of rebuilding health structures to acceptable levels.
In 1990 Medicins Sans Frontieres in Greece was founded as an association. Since then the organization has provided medical assistance to more than 40 countries with the participation of 450 volunteers.
Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is supported by 136.000 private donors who make possible the operation of humanitarian programs. In the last 15 years, programs have been developed in Africa, countries of the ex-Soviet Union, Asia, and the Balkans. Today, MSF Greece has programs in Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Liberia and Niger.
